TechCrunch is no stranger to the Mobility space. Over the years, TechCrunch events have featured such Mobility leaders as Elon Musk (Tesla), Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber), Logan Green (Lyft), Kyle Vogt (Cruise), Alex Rodriques (Embark), and Chris Urmson (Aurora). In 2018, TechCrunch Tel Aviv included panels on sensor technologies, autonomous-vehicle safety, and mobility regulations that may be right around the corner. And this year, on July 10, TechCrunch will continue its focus on mobility when it presents TC Sessions: Mobility at the California Theatre in San Jose.
That strong track record explains why mobility sponsors routinely flock to TechCrunch events. Consider, for example, the experience of BYTON, which recently sponsored an Innovation Break at Disrupt SF 2018. “We’ve done a lot of shows with auto enthusiasts,” BYTON’s Andrew Hussey said in an interview with TechCrunch, “but we wanted to reach the tech enthusiasts.”
BYTON wanted mobility technologists to see for themselves its innovative “shared-experience” dashboard display in the M-Byte, a vehicle that Hussey calls a “a smart device on wheels.” In addition, the TechCrunch event was “a great opportunity to recruit,” Hussey said, as well as a productive forum for raising money. “The majority of our investment comes from China,” he explained, so naturally BYTON was looking to diversify its funding sources. According to Hussey, sponsoring an Innovation Break checked that box, too. “We met a lot of people who can help with Series C and Series D funding,” he said.
At TC Sessions: Mobility, two companies will have the opportunity to sponsor Innovation Breaks on the main stage of the California Theatre. Five companies will be given the opportunity to sponsor a Breakout Session off the main stage, while there are numerous slots available for smaller startups that would like to host a demo. Other sponsorship opportunities at TC Sessions: Mobility include underwriting the event’s exclusive pre- and post-event dinners and receptions, and one smart company will lock down a Digital Takeover of TechCrunch.com on the day of the show.
