BadSeed, a mobile games startup, has secured €250,000 early stage investment from United Ventures, the European VC. The funding will back the development of BadSeed’s second game “Sleep Attack” and another title.
In late 2012 the team moved to Estonia having been selected for GameFounders, the first European accelerator program for gaming startups and in 2013 they were selected by the Mind The Bridge programme in Silicon Valley, closing a deal with mobile publishing giant PocketGems for the their first title ‘Sheep Up!’. Both Google and Blackberry featured Sheep Up! for a week after it’s launch and the game has so far had close to one million downloads.
A direct competitor would be Iron Hide Studio, which leads in the tower defence genre with Kingdom Rush. Amanita Design and MediaMolecule who would also be competitors.
United Ventures, based in Italy, is an investor in 20Lines, Halldis, LoveTheSign, Cloud4Wi, AppsBuilder, Bad Seed and MoneyFarm.
